It saddens and irritates me when people tell me “for what do I need etiquette – social skills?” What are we at the end of the day….., SOCIAL CREATURES! Communication is what drives us, – a human connection – the key to personal and career success. Without communication, a social skill, our species will fall apart.

Allow me to quote Professor Pier Forni who compares social skills as the traffic light for life, it couldn’t be explained better: “…..on the road, traffic lights turn a world full of cars into different directions in an orderly system that allows everyone to reach their destination. In life, these etiquette rules are the traffic lights of human interaction. We need it, in order not to crash into each other in our daily behaviour”.

And what do we do if two people meet? We interact, and there we are, in the middle of etiquette, social skills, life skills, soft skills, people skills or whatever you want to call it.

Coming together is a beginning – Keeping together is a progress – Working together is a success (Henry Ford)……Let’s work together today to cultivate the strategies of social success.
